    Eighty percent of the income is to be used for scholarships for students who are citizens of the United States and are enrolled in academic programs leading to Christian mission work. Preference will be given to entering freshmen having graduated in the top 20th percentile; continuing students must have earned at least a 3.0 GPA. Twenty percent of the income is to be added to the principal.

    During his lifetime, or until otherwise directed, the Donor intends to continue funding the annual scholarship and desires that all earnings for the fund be reinvested in accordance with investment policies determined by the Board of Regents. When the annual scholarship funding ends, the endowment will be used to provide scholarships based on financial need to students who have declared a science major, and who have completed at least two years of their undergraduate studies. The donor prefers that the award be given to one recipient rather than dispersed among several.

    Scholarships are to be awarded to an undergraduate student demonstrating financial need. Preference should be given to a Church Work/ Theology or Science/Health/Healthcare major, involved in Solus Christus Fellows or another Hoffmann Institute ministry initiative. Secondary preference should be given to Church Work student to further the Great Commission.
