Ministry

The ministry fund enables CSP to support students who have chosen to serve The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as church workers. Preparing church workers for the LCMS has been part of CSP’s mission since its inception. CSP’s unique Church Work Tuition Guarantee eases the financial burden of pursuing these programs, ensuring more workers for God’s kingdom.

Why is CSP doing this for Church Work Students?
The Church Work Tuition Guarantee demonstrates CSP’s support of and commitment to support and participate in the comprehensive church worker recruitment initiative” undertaken by the LCMS at its 2019 convention. In 2026, CSP has expanded its efforts to support $0 tuition to all church work students.
How is CSP able to do this?
The Church Work Tuition Guarantee is made possible by donor support. CSP is actively seeking additional donor support for all students. How does this compare to other schools? This makes CSP the lowest-cost and greatest value Concordia University System institution for church work students, providing an undergraduate degree at a lower tuition cost than any other public or private institution.
Are there any other requirements for these students?
The requirements for a student to obtain and sustain the Church Work Tuition Guarantee include:
- Being enrolled in a Church Work program as a full-time student (taking between 12 – 16 credits each semester)
- Completing the FAFSA Application.
- Prior to classes beginning, the scholar must be a member of a Lutheran-Missouri Synod Church (LCMS) and continue to be a member of an LCMS congregation while a student at CSP.
Is there any application or limit to scholarships?
The Guarantee is automatically accounted for in your financial aid offer. You do not need to take any action to accept it.
What if my congregation or district offers financial assistance?
Funds from a student’s home congregation, LCMS District, and local communities may be stacked on top of this guarantee to further reduce the cost of tuition and living expenses.
