You’ve tried everything: earlier bedtimes, no screens after 8, tracking your sleep stages down to the minute. Somehow, the harder you try, the harder it is to sleep. For people who lie awake watching the clock, insomnia stops being just exhaustion. It becomes its own source of dread. The push for a good night’s sleep quietly turns sleep into the enemy.
Dr. Jade Wu has spent her career helping people break that cycle. As a behavioral sleep medicine specialist and author of Hello Sleep: The Science and Art of Overcoming Insomnia Without Medications, she’s built her work around one central shift: Your brain wants sleep; it just needs you to stop fighting it. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the most researched and effective non-medication treatment available, she walks you through why common sleep advice backfires and how to actually fix it.
Practical Tools and Strategies You’ll Gain
- Why Trying Harder Backfires: Understand why common fixes like earlier bedtimes and sleep tracking often make insomnia worse, and what to do instead.
- Rebuild Your Sleep Relationship: Apply the core principles of CBT-I to rebuild a healthier, lower-effort relationship with sleep.
