Join online or on demand on October 23 for a preaching workshop featuring Advent resources from Rev. Dr. Reed Lessing, the Director of the Center for Biblical Studies at Concordia University, St. Paul. How can we preach the hope of Advent with depth and clarity in a season often crowded with noise, nostalgia, and fleeting celebration? In this workshop, Rev. Dr. Reed Lessing will offer a rich starting point for proclaiming Christ from Isaiah 60.
Participants will explore how Lessing’s devotional reflections open one of Isaiah’s most amazing chapters and point us to the coming, saving work, and promised return of Jesus. Together, we will consider how Isaiah speaks to weary people, searching people, outsiders, and those who long for God’s salvation—and how those promises are fulfilled in Christ and given to us.
Attendees will receive four sermons, PowerPoint slides and a bonus Epiphany sermon series and Bible Study on the book of Ecclesiastes.
Attendees are encouraged to buy the Everlasting Light by CPH in tandem with this workshop for deeper congregational study and use.
