The Fall 2025 term marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Concordia School of Adult Learning (CSAL), which marked significant innovation in higher education of the mid 1980s. Through CSAL, the university expanded access to college for adult learners and non-traditional students, long before such efforts became widespread in higher education.
The foundation CSAL laid echoes today through the innovative and career-propelling programs of CSP Global, our academic division dedicated to serving adult learners through online and hybrid undergraduate and graduate programs. CSP Global extends the university’s mission to students in 40 countries and through our campuses in St. Paul, Portland, and Denver.
From our innovations of the 1980s, non-traditional programming now spans nursing, healthcare, business, information technology, communications, criminal justice, education, exercise science and allied health, general studies, and human services.
This important anniversary is a reminder of Concordia’s commitment to flexibility, accessibility, and low-cost/high-value undergraduate and graduate programming.
