Career Champion Network
The Career Champion Network is a directory that connects CSP students, staff, faculty and alumni to exchange valuable career insights, note internship opportunities and share career information.
A Career Champion is someone who is willing to share their story and career journey. You are not expected to be an expert on a specific subject, but rather serve as a sounding board and resource for the CSP Community.
What do I have to do as a Career Champion?
Be serving as a Career Champion you are agreeing that you are open to one-on-one conversations with students.
You could also offer any of the following services if you wish:
- Providing feedback on resumes and/or cover letters
- Helping students prepare for interviews/conduct mock interview
- Participating in employer or alumni panels (virtual or in-person), speaking in a classroom (virtual or in-person)
- Any other unique skill or service you think may be helpful
How will the CCN be used?
We will encourage users to:
- Search for CSP Career Champions by major, job title, and location
- Gain insights to launch or advance their career
- Explore career interests and discover new possibilities
- Learn about the expected skills and experiences needed in a chosen career
- Discover career and internship opportunities at companies where CSP alumni work
- Faculty and staff can access the network to gain industry insights and/or recruit guest speakers
- Student leaders can access the network to recruit employer volunteers for various events
What is the ongoing commitment?
To serve as a CSP Career Champion, we ask that you:
- Respond to inquiries from users of the Career Champions Network
- Be willing to complete two surveys during the academic year to provide us feedback
- Keep your information up to date and reply to people who reach out through the network in a timely manner
Users will have a network of champions to explore and reach out to, so an individual champion won’t become overly tapped.
Can alumni use the CCN?
Yes! You may find there are Career Champions working in a field you are interested in or at a different stage in their careers. In either case, you could gain valuable insights and connections. You are welcome to be both a Champion and a user of the CCN.
