Committee Chair Information
Purpose of Position
To lead the committee in fulfilling its Committee Purpose
Responsibilities
- Schedule and facilitate committee meetings
- Lead the committee to fulfill the purpose of the committee plan and yearly objectives
- Serve as the Alumni Association representative at any awards event
- Submit committee meeting minutes to alumni staff
- Attend quarterly executive committee meetings
- Evaluate committee purpose and function annually
- Solicit any requests for amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws from committee members, for the fourth quarter executive committee meeting
Qualifications
Ability to facilitate and provide meaningful insight at committee meetings
Time Commitment
- Serve a two-year term as Chair of the committee (additional two-year terms as chair or as member of a designated committee, up to six years total)
- Summer kick-off event – up to two days in August
- Committee meetings – minimum of three, two hour meetings per year. The potential for more awards selection meetings may be required
- Executive Leadership Committee meetings –quarterly, estimated two hours per meeting (including prep time)
