Marlene Wirth, B.A. ’67 had an amazing year teaching first grade at River Grove Environmental Charter School. They began classes in a forest with each grade having a picnic table. Later tents arrived and students and teachers spent the fall in a pristine forest. When the weather got too cold, they moved inside to a church basement. Next we went to a retreat center until their new building in Stillwater was ready in February. She encourages others “to seize an opportunity when it comes your way-even at 79! God has work for all of us!”
